Nicolas Cage goes post-apocalyptic in this film that melds family drama with end-of-the-world suspense. He plays a father to two teenage sons who survive in a world devasted by a pandemic. So far, so familiar. But there’s more to this cataclysm than first meets the eye, because this world is also filled with light-sensitive beasties. If you’re a fan of creature features and Nicolas Cage, then this is the perfect movie night in for you.

Force of Nature: The Dry 2

If you want suspense of a different kind, this thriller is a sequel to 2020’s The Dry, with Eric Bana returning as Detective Aaron Falk. This time he has to solve the mystery of a missing hiker whose companions all tell a different tale of her disappearance.
Also look out for: Recipes for Love and Murder season 2, Thursdays at 20:00 and on DStv Stream, for solving more mysteries; and Sleeping Dogs, your Sunday night movie on 16 March, for another grizzled and seasoned detective.
Strangers

For an unsual romance, there's this thriller about a woman who falls for a charming hitman ... and then decides to join him, learning all the hitman-making ropes as their volatile romance progresses.
Red Right Hand

Andie MacDowell has joked about experiencing reverse nepotism, since these days her daughter Margaret Qualley is getting all the attention thanks to her incredible talent. But ‘90s kids will remember MacDowell well from movies like Groundhog Day and Four Weddings and a Funeral. In Red Right Hand, she plays a villain trying to upend the peaceful life of a man called Cash, played by Orlando Bloom, when she tries to force him back to his old life. Expect action and thrills.
