Following M-Netā€™s exciting announcement of acquiring the award-winning and critically-acclaimed neo-Western drama seriesĀ YellowstoneĀ earlier this week,Ā viewers are eagerly awaiting the premiere of the series tonight (2 March) at 21:00Ā on DStvā€™s M-Net Channel 101.

If youā€™re among those that are still on the fence, here are a few reasons why this series cannot be missed:

  • The series starsĀ multi-award-winning screen legend Kevin CostnerĀ (The Bodyguard,Ā Dances with Wolves) who plays theĀ patriarch of the Dutton clan.
  • It is set onĀ the sprawling plainsĀ of Montana with mountainsĀ and rivers galore, so theĀ cinematography is bound to be gorgeous.
  • The series hasĀ a stellar castĀ playing complex characters. Youā€™ll find someone to root for orĀ those you will love to hate. The outstanding cast includes Luke Grimes (American Sniper,Ā True Blood); Kelly Reilly (True Detective,Ā Flight); Wes Bentley (Hunger Games,Ā American Horror Story); Cole Hauser (Olympus Has Fallen,Ā 2 Fast 2 Furious); Kelsey Asbille (Teen Wolf,Ā One Tree Hill); and Gil Birmingham (Twilight,Ā Banshee).Ā Ā
  • ItsĀ storyline is rivetingĀ and filled with twists and turns, so thereā€™s no boredom on the cards.
  • A messy and sweet romanceĀ involving the bad-ass Beth Dutton (played by Kelly Reilly).
  • Kevin Costner said in an interview that he signed up for the show because he was emotionally invested in the story being told ā€“ which meansĀ viewers will probably fall in loveĀ with the show just as he did.
  • You can binge it ā€“Ā nine episodes a week is quite the treat.
  • Rumour has it that M-Net may have acquired theĀ popular prequels,Ā 1883Ā andĀ 1923.

YellowstoneĀ is co-created byĀ John Linson (who has produced works such asĀ Lords of DogtownĀ andĀ Sons of Anarchy) andĀ Taylor Sheridan (whose screenwriting credits include the acclaimed filmsĀ SicarioĀ andĀ Hell or Highwater).Ā

Be sure not to miss it on DStv, M-Net Channel 101.
