A trifecta of awesome Hollywood ladies stars in The Kitchen, your Sunday night movie this week on M-Net. Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish, and Elisabeth Moss take us to Hell’s Kitchen in the ‘70s as they play a trio of mob wives. None of these ladies need any introduction, but we’re zooming our lens onto Moss, because we’re heading into something of a Moss binge this week with The Kitchen and the fourth season of The Handmaid’s Tale on our watch list.
With that in mind, let’s look at the past, present, and future work of this great actress.
The West Wing
After a string of movies and TV show appearances, Moss came to the fore with her role as the youngest daughter of President Josiah Bartlet, played by Martin Sheen, in The West Wing. Although her appearances were few and far between, she was with the show until the final season, starting what was to be a trailblazing path on television.
Mad Men
Merely a year after The West Wing ended Moss was back on our screens in this 1960s-set ad agency drama as the awkward Peggy Olson. But Peggy didn’t stay that way for long. The character’s evolution throughout the show coupled with Moss’s tour de force performance made Peggy one of the most memorable characters of this century’s first decade of television.
The Handmaid’s Tale
If fans thought Moss hit a peak with Mad Men, boy were they wrong, because just a couple years later the actress reached into our hearts and squeezed with her incredible performance as Offred/June in the adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s acclaimed novel. Moss has picked up a Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy for her performance on the show, and her fellow cast members have followed suit with equally strong, affecting, and award-winning performances. The show is currently in its fourth season, which has started on Showmax. Binge time!

The Shining Girls
We’re excited about Moss’s next project: a TV series adaptation of the book of the same name by South African author Lauren Beukes. Moss is on board to star and produce the show. It’s set in the U.S. though, so don’t worry about hearing any attempts at South African accents.
